5 stars, BUT BUT BUT please take into consideration i have only been there one time, and the deliciousness of my meal increases my rating greatly. The rest of their dishes might suck, i dont know. I also was there at noon on a wednesday, so not exactly peak hours. However... i have lived in California for 12 years, Texas for 4 years, as well as washington state, north carolina, louisiana, and missouri, and i can say that this might have been the best mexican dish i've ever had. I got a form of fajitas, i can't remember the name, but it was fajitas with chicken, bacon, poblano peppers, onions, bell peppers, and cheese. i've never before eaten until my stomach hurt, but i did this time because it was so good i didn't want to leave it. Also was seated quickly (again it was very empty when i went) and waiter was quick and attentive.

Tried this place the other night while in town. Not bad all! Chips and salsa were good - fresh salsa too! We all had tacos - they were traditional and excellent. Choice of beef, chicken, or shredded beef. Shredded beef rocks! Service was good too. Check them out!

We went here as a group of 4 last night for dinner, service was good, food was good, I really like their salsa! The biggest issue we had was my husband's order! We all got the right food and drinks, except my husbands they never got right! He ordered a beer on tap, which they ended up being out of, when they gave him his second choice it was the wrong size, then his dinner order came with the wrong type of meat and wrong toppings. They did a good job of correcting things as we requested, however throwing in a free dessert or something would have gone a long way. We will still come back to try again.

Not sure why I like this place, but I do! Fun decor, fast with the chips and salsa. Margaritas are good (I order with Patron - and they oblige!) Hubby gets cerveza. Food comes reasonably fast, portions are good, flavor is good, prices are good. Good place for couples, kids, everyone. Menu selection is huge. I like the street tacos, super authentic. My fave has been the nachos with chicken and chorizo. Last time we went there was a cart lady making fresh guacamole table side, we did not try it but it looked good! I have been in there when it was packed (Friday night) and when it was not (Saturday afternoon) and many other times and they have been consistently good.

New management turned this place around with much more competent staff. Food is still good, ambiance is good, now finally good service.

Went here for lunch on a Friday, the restaurant was very clean and the staff was very friendly and attentive. We all tried the cheese queso dip and everyone agreed it was very good. Each of us had different items, they all arrived promptly, were the perfect temperature and very good. I tried the 2 softshell tacos with chicken, the chicken was nicely seasoned with lettuce and a Mexican type cheese. Great food that doesn't cost a lot, we will definitely go back! Update 8/29/14 - the majority of us tried salads this time, they were presented in fresh, crispy taco bowls with perfectly cooked and seasoned ingredients. I had the shrimp salad and it was really good, I will be getting that again!

This place is rotten on all levels. Stay away. Two strikes and you are out. Service was horrible. Appetizer was served with one of the orders for one of my four guests. The rest of the order trickle in over the course of 5 to 7 minutes. Took 15 minutes to get appetizer. The place was completely empty. This is the second time I've been here. Figured everybody deserves a second chance. Never again. Did I mention no music? Then music then static that music then static that music then static the music that static the music...... For the last 15 minutes of our dinner.

I may be splitting hairs here, but i find Black Creek El Presidente to be more customer friendly, clean and cheerful.. Food is very comparable, however with the quality and flavor at both, little concerned DePere was real salty, ! I would stop again if in the DePere area but would prefer Black Creek!! Christian & Mariah from Black Creek Rock!

The service and the food was excellent no Mexican restaurant around here can compare. As soon as we sat down we would give chips and salsa. The chips were still warm and they were good. Server came over to take drink orders. He was a little hard to understand but it is a Mexican restaurant. We had our drinks in what seemed like seconds. We ordered and our meal was to us within 10mins. It was hot and delicious. The decor was beautiful. I would recommend trying. My one complaint was that there was no way to block the sun that was blinding me. Even with that, the food made up for it.

Well first off when you walk in it is very Southwest Arizona looking but after that everything goes downhill. took my mom and daughter out for a nice lunch midweek. No silverware on the table and it took us two minutes into receiving our meals to get any napkins or utensils. sat down ordered food and waiter wrote down the order, very simple enchiladas and fajitas with no sour cream and no tomatoes and what happens?? Waiter brings back food that had tomatoes and sour cream all over it like I told him not too put on there. He takes the plates back and 30 seconds later returns with same plates of food with the sour cream wiped off the plate and you could still see remnants of it on the lettuce and tomato seeds were still on the plate. I asked him why the food had those items on it and he said "oh I must've forgotten to write it down"and I said I watched you write it down but he says he probably wrote down the wrong thing. Being from California I have experienced true authentic Mexican food and good service and this place has neither. Not sure how you can stay in business when you run a place like this. Absolutely one of the worst restaurant experiences ever, do not eat here or waste your money.

I really like the food here, the service is very good. The only thing I would say is the portions are a little bit small.

Extremely good food. Extremely. The meat is so rich and good. We had very good service. I would recommend anything with chorizo near. It is to die for rich. We came on a Tuesday evening and it was two for one 12 oz margaritas which ended up being 2.50 per. Best Mexican food in De Pere for sure!

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
